The internal fighting about what made it to the final 100 was heated and brutal. Creating a list like this was a constant battlefield, because we had to dig deep and figure out what “iconic” really means. Is it just something all of us like and keep coming back to? Does it have to be truly delicious? Can we include chains, or are we selling our souls? Take a look inside the new Falafel Arax in Glendale, where the branding is strong. Colorful touches and a hanging LA Weekly piece set the tone for the place, which enjoys a rabid following at their original location. Though nothing is for certain, this piece definitely hints at a possibility of franchising sometime very soon.

Falafel Expands With New Locations Slated for Glendale & Studio City

Strip mall favorite Falafel Arax is, after some 35 years, expanding beyond their East Hollywood digs. A quick look at their website shows a simple "new locations coming soon," but rumor has it there are two in the works: Studio City, which is still a little ways off, and Glendale, which could be soft open as soon as this week.
